Player Reviews Posted 04-15-08 Submitted by Anonymous Level: Amateur Avg Drive: 325 Disc Weights: 169 Review: My friend gave me his spectra, and even though it's pretty broken in, i really like it. It replaced the pro wraith as my main maximum distance driver. It flies like a straighter orc, and i prefer the way it feels in my hand. It has the characteristic turn of an orc, but it has just as much fade as turn, so it ends up right where i threw it. Unless it's really windy, i throw this disc on every open hole. AM. I am still working on my technique to get decent distance, which is normally close to but under 300'. The Spectra will definitely change that. The first throw with the Spectra went further than my other drivers that I was throwing that day. It was always 15 and normally 30 feet further than the rest and with the same effort. When thrown quick enough it had a very long straight glide phase. When I let it hang or didn't have the required speed it seemed to take a big swoop and needed lot's of space. I believe that with practice I can get it to straighten out and that it will be my go to driver when I need D. I haven't tested it in strong wind yet. My preferred driver is an elite xl so I figured the spectra wouldn't behave too differently. Discraft says this disc might be the next record setter [aren't they all...] but what sold me was the promise that it flies further with less effort. I played a full day with the spectra and was impressed. It gets out of your hand with good speed and is easy to control. I look forward to some long, straight drives with this disc.
