Then the headwinds came, and it became my favorite disc into the wind. This disc is my ol' reliable. It is the one disc I know will do what I want it to do LHBH or RHBH. This disc and it twin partner never leave my bag. Throw it into the wind, or for a wicked hyzer shot. Posted: 2-09-05 Submitted by Layne D Disc: Innova Champion Banshee (170g) I am an intermediate right-handed player with 10+ yrs of experience. I throw both side arm and overhand (pinch grip). I am the type of player that will go for a predictable drive and approach vs. trying for a very long drive. I have found the key to a good score isn’t a super long drive but a reliable & predictable throw. This review is for the Innova Champion Banshee (170) Recently I went shopping to find some new disks and to replace several older and worn disks. I remember a buddy stating that he liked the way his DX Banshee performed, so I thought I should check out the Champion Banshee. I noticed the Banshee flies pretty straight and has a normal fade. It handles fairly well in windy conditions but not as well as my heavy Champion Valkyrie. Both discs have similar weights so perhaps the Champion Valkyrie is better in the wind simply because it weighs a little more and it is my favorite disc. My Banshee seems to drop like a rock when I throw it. I simply can not get huge distance using this disk. I do however like the way it flies when using a side arm throw. Although I usually use lighter disks for my side arm shots Champion Eagle (155) or a Champion Valkyrie (155), I did like the way this disk felt throwing side arm. This is unusual for me as I generally do not throw anything over 160 side arm and my Champion Banshee is 170! Overall I think this disc is a good all around driver. There are other discs that will go further but the Banshees strength is in its comfort to throw side arm and the fact that it works well in the wind. hr> Submit Your Review Back to Main Page |
