Anyone familiar with central Arizona courses?

Postby JHern » Wed Aug 04, 2010 4:51 pm

I'm in Phoenix for the next week and change, and looking to play some fun disc golf in the region. Definitely will hit Fountain Hills, but wondering what other folks recommendations might be. We're willing to make a good long drive.

Played FH last evening (we were the only players on the course). Beautiful course, lots of distance throws and gut checks. Lost 2 drivers in the drink.

My wife and I encountered the most wonderful surprise yesterday: Baskets on the ski runs at Mt Lemmon, AZ! We were so fired up! :P

And then they told us the course was closed. :(

Apparently they only put it up for a single tournament, and the rest of the time its closed (they make it sound like you don't even get practice rounds with the tournament!). They leave the baskets in for a while just to torture disc golf tourists such as ourselves.
