Charlotte Trip

Hello all,

I am in Greensboro for the next week visiting my in-laws and I'm contemplating a day trip to Charlotte to play some of the stellar courses in the area. My original thought was that I would attempt to play Renaissance and Hornet's Nest in one day, but I wanted to hear what other people thought first. Do you think it would be better to choose one particular course and play it from multiple layouts, or is it worth trying to get in multiple courses? If there are other Charlotte courses that you think would be better representative of the Charlotte disc golf scene, please let me know that as well!

Secondly, I believe I will be making this trip on Friday of this week. If anyone is interested in meeting up to play a few rounds and help me find my way around the courses, I'd love to play a round with you! Just let me know.

Renny gold and Hornet's nest is a good day of DG that will wear you out. You'll have to get started pretty early though to make sure you get them both in as they are both long and kinda far away from each other driving wise. I think you can get a pretty good experience from just playing both layouts at either of those courses.

Other option if you don't think you'll have enough time is play Eastway long and Kilborne as they are like 5 mins away.

Monday though I will be free (Jan 2nd) in case you are postponing. I believe a friend of mine and I will be doing Eastway and Kilborne that day.

yes Renny gold by itself will wear you slam out. I think you have to be high on meth to both Renny Gold and the Nest.

I did both in one day once when I was visiting charlotte a few years ago. I played renny first and was playing really sloppy by the time I got to the back nine of Hornet's Nest and I think I took at least a bogey on every hole from 10-18. It went from a fun day of DG to just being exhausting.
