SE Wisconsin's Newest Course

Postby wdb4th » Wed Jan 30, 2008 8:07 am

"Good News Everyone"

Fontana, WI will soon be the home of 2 disc golf courses. Although both will be using the PDGA approved Quest AT Disc Trapper basket until the ground thaws in the spring, they will be playable very shortly.

The course at The Abbey Resort is private.. but don't worry, not only do I work there I am kinda the go to guy for Disc Golf. (Please note: I had very little land to work with in designing this course)

The newest course at Duck Pond Rec Area will have its front 9 installed sometime this week. Whenever I feel brave enough to go back outside.

If anyone is up to try these course out feel free to PM me.

Are you going to a metal basket after the spring? Or you gonna stay with the Quest AT basket?

I voted No, just because I live in CO and I hate not seeing the poll results. So subtract one no vote :)

Kewl how much those plastic baskets cost? For 18?
I was thinking about trying to get a local school to sponsor a course and make it part of their gym class. Hell I might even go after a college program for intermural. If I can keep costs down that might make it easier.

hey wally, its danny, steve's son. did he tell you about his idea for a course right down the street from our house? the township has 40 acres, and he wants to design probably a 9 hole course that is set up like a real golf course. 2 par 5's, 2 or 3 par 3's, and 4 or 5 par 4's. then get reactions from all the disc golfers in the area to see how they like the setup. should be pretty cool i think if he gets to do it.
