Biggest Little Disc Golf Course

Postby dflaschiii » Mon Mar 31, 2008 11:47 pm

Exciting news for those in northern Nevada pining for disc golf, Reno is getting a disc golf course! Should be ready to go by the end of April, located at the Rancho San Rafael park. It is literally a 10 minute walk from my front door (guess that's only exciting to me).

Went and took a walk at the site today and it should present a unique challenge. Like the British Open in ball golf, there are few, if any, trees in play, just hills and sagebrush. The real challenge will be the wind, which comes off the Sierras and blasts over this area at ridiculous speeds (so windy here I often find myself pedaling my bike downhill into a headwind just to maintain speed). If it's designed well it should play very long, and if OB markers are included, could be very challenging.

So if you're taking I80 through Nevada, remember there's a course right off the interstate in Reno (along with hookers, casinos, and the world bowling championships... come make the biggest little mistake of your life!).
