Krape Park-Freeport,IL

Some friends and I were going to go play this course after work and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is flooded? No sense in wasting the gas if it is underwater and not playable. Anyone know? Help please

Well, we drove up and played 18. Only 1 spot on the course with a small amount of standing water, but otherwise it is pretty good. Pretty muddy in some spots but very playable. Shot a 65 (par is 69).

No water on the course at all now - July 4th.

Krape is a very nice course that is WELL maintained. Over all it is a short course, but it has a lot of trees in fairway and around pins. There are a few open holes where distance is key. It is a course that requires all shots, with doglegs both ways and some downward elevation changes. The Pecatonica River creates a huge water hazard that really affects 3 holes but you could hit the water on 5 holes with a poor throw.

It is a classic PAR 3 course though there are clearly marked signs with "course par" labeled to encourage newcomers.

Shooting PAR 3s = 54

The local club tourneys usually have winners at about 6 under on PAR 3s.

What is the best way to get to the Freeport course from Anna Page in Rockford?

Im heading back down there in 2 weeks to play Anna Page again, and would love to check this one out.

From Rockford take US 20 West to Freeport

Take Business 20 into Freeport

Business 20 becomes South Street

Continue West on South street about 3 miles- cross over West Ave (Mcdonalds)

Turn left onto LeCresta Ave (past Culvers under big water tower on the right)

Keep going until you must turn left onto PARK AVE

You will now be entering Krape PArk

Follow signs to Flagstaff Hill / Disc Golf (Keep right turns everytime you can)

If you dont get lost, the travel time is about 45 mins between parks.

Does anyone know the current conditions of Krape Park? I know they suffered some pretty major flooding and just wondered what kind of shape the course is currently in. Any info anyone?

The holes down by the water are still suffering from some flooding and one basket is totally wiped out by a fallen tree. All in all, considering the scope of the flooding damage this course made it out relatively unscathed
