I got my info from Jussi via his friend & Finnish DG board. I would like to see the full list too.

Record tied by Nate Doss and now unofficially rated 1085. Plus Tim Skellinger throws in a monster second shot for a double eagle 2 on the 901' hole 12.

finally someone breaks the long standing course record. and two people in the same round none the less... exactly one round after no one broke into the 50's.
seems like an interesting usdgc thus far!
i hope nate just destroys everyone! he deserves it! a sick golfer with a good attitude! more 55s!!!!

Cooler temps and I'm guessing little wind or what wind was there may not have been in an ideal direction based on the stadium they usually use for the finals which only allows throws along one axis.

In the twitter comments, the Dots said something about a "helicopter" shot. I assumed this meant an elevator putt, but apparently they were saying it about one of Avery's shots...a ~300' throw that went OB. Anybody know what they're talking about with "helicopter"?

Uh-Oh-Cli-Mo.

Looks like he's gonna take a serious run at crushing Doss's bid to be the fourth USDGC champion.

I would not want Climo on my heels at Winthrop, that's for sure.

I'm guessing a nose up airbounce type shot. One that is thrown high and hovers dropping straight down. It's hard to throw a shot like that more than 200'. But then again it's Avery we're talking about he's kinda a freak. I played with him once (3rd round at Seneca A-tier a few years back).

yep its a high shot where you throw it nose up, and try to get it to drop straight down. So most people would probably use an understable putter/midrange, that will fly straight on a high noseup line. I can be a very useful shot if you have small green to land on, and a lot of low bushes/trees in the way.

Or you just throw a thumber/tomahawk if you have that shot in your arsenal
