yep its a high shot where you throw it nose up, and try to get it to drop straight down. So most people would probably use an understable putter/midrange, that will fly straight on a high noseup line. I can be a very useful shot if you have small green to land on, and a lot of low bushes/trees in the way.

Or you just throw a thumber/tomahawk if you have that shot in your arsenal

It can be done with an understable putter, or an overstable putter like a wizard with anhyzer, nose up, and good snap.

Actually Id call that a high S-shot, because you are throwing (slight) left to right and a wizard will fade. And if the green is very small that is something I would try to avoid.

In one of the discraft training videos, they throw around with rattlers and challengers. Of the two I would definitly prefer to throw the rattler for this type of shot, because it is much more suited for it, and I believe it is very hard to throw a straight nose up shot with a challenger (or wizard) and have it drop straight down.

Btw. come to think of it I think Mark Ellis demonstrates a helicopter shot in the video.

So who's going to take it today?

I hate to say it, but I think Climo smells blood and will squeak this one out. I'd like to see Doss hang on for a win, but KC owns Winthrop.

Sorry. Had to report. Kenny and Avery just birdie'd hole #3 -- 389' -- by parking ROCS!

Anybody on here throw a Roc on a near 400' hole? I'll only pull mine out at < 300'.

Actually, I have. We have a 385' hole and it is fairly easy to park a Roc there. It has about 6' of elevation drop, though; that helps. I am consistently impressed with what the Roc can/can't do.

The Dots and Twitter are AWESOME! These graphics are what I was hoping was in store for televised DG. The only thing needed to satisfy my inner-geek is the disc used for every shot and the throwing style for every shot (bh, fh, oh, etc.)

looks like I was wrong about Climo stealing this one. Doss will have to REALLY choke to drop this ball...

It says something about the course and the competition when there is a 6 point gap and 9 holes left and you still think its easily possible for the lead to change.

Dave shoots a 59 to make the cash, finishing 45th.

Arturo shoots a SICK 58 to finish in 17th, earning an exception for next year's USDGC. Not bad for a Winthrop Gold rookie.

Youngest players

Postby Olorin » Mon Oct 06, 2008 4:33 pm

I'm compiling some USDGC stats. I keep track of the youngest players at the USDGC. Does anyone know how old Paul McBeth and David WIggins Jr. are? What year were they born? In 2005 MCBeth played in the <16 division at Am Worlds.
