Devon Owens from Tulsa is also like 18 or 19. he cashed, but near the bottom of the cash.

and Coda (20ish) and Nikko (18?) are still young. so is Doss, for that matter....

we're gonna see a lot of those 3 guys and Avery for a long time.

So are you sure that McBeth was born in 1990?

Who can find the only non-sponsored player in the top 20?

Seems odd that 1st place got $3000 less this year than last. Did some major sponsor bow out or something?

maybe the 10,000 ace? I found it strange too. BTW, Nate picked up a nice bonus from his sponsor for the win.

Last year they had a donor who wished to remain anonymous who provided the money to specifically boost first place to $15,000. But apparently not this year. Compare second place cash both years and you'll see it was only first that got the special boost.

Any predictions on when Wiggins Jr will win the USDGC? 2011 perhaps?

How is that possible? Isnt the USDGC like other Major pdga tournaments supposed to follow a prize structure?

perhaps that was the sponsor that Johnathon eluded to at the banquet that pulled out due to bad behavior or something on the part of a competitor last year? Or maybe it was Zeppy and he didn't like the champ setting him straight on hole 5 last year?

Most PDGA TDs follow the formula for entry fees and undesignated sponsorship. But if a sponsor says it will add $4000 specifically to first place Open, we don't turn it down. There are many examples of specified sponsorship in the past with $500 added to the Sr GM purse or $1000 added to Women Pro only. Having a basket added specifically for the Advanced winner is the same type of thing as specified cash and that happens regularly.
