Check this baby out

Postby ChUcK » Tue Dec 30, 2008 7:33 pm

So I was crocheting Christmas ornaments for my family and it occurred to me that I could probably construct a basket out of yarn, and managed to make a mini Discatcher to hang on a tree. The chains are all connected to a loop around the pole just like a real basket, and the little yarn putters are pretty difficult to sink. This one was pretty fun to do.

Pretty soon I'm going to make a "how to" tutorial on how to make a rope basket. I've seen endless cheap baskets, and super crappy homemade crap. But never a pro rope basket. I grew up around a lake, and I know a little about knots. I think a rope basket is exactly what the sport needs for home practice.

Cool stuff, and good job dude. I love to see creativity, in all it's forms.

wow..very cool to see a basket crocheted !
I'm thinking about taking different sized wire and creating a miniature disc golf basket for my desk at work. I used to make armatures for maquettes at art school. I think I'm going to break out the remaining bit of wire I have and a pair of pliers to see how it turns out. Now all that's left to do is find where I stashed the stuff.. :?
