Well I would sure as heck like to know how they did it. I used HOT rit and let it dip for longer than necessary and all I could get was a very light gray. Oh well.

The mini drivers or the champion plastic ones will work better than the normal ones.

Yeah... it sounds like maybe you tried to dye a (DX) Mini Driver; the "it faded" part sounds like DX. Try a Star mini (the flexy Mini Drivers) or a Champ Mini (Aviar and Mini Drivers).
