2 new Slayer dyes

Postby AciDBatH666 » Sat Jan 31, 2009 8:07 pm

This is for my own personal bag. I've done so much work for other ppl, especially locals, that I've never had the time to do anything for my own bag. So I decided to round up a few images I saved a while back and get em cut and ready to slap on discs.
I've been a Slayer fan for years. I actually wanted the Divine Intervention album cover tattooed as a backpiece... But the detail would be several grand in work. So I started work on a spine instead.
Anywho, here's the Divine Intervention Album cover, and the Slayer Eagle logo.

I LOVE the way the Eagle came out. This was a pearly/clear Champion Orc. I kinda wish I did the negative of this because it's going to fade out. But I can always recut the image and slap it on another disc. The divine intervention one didn't come out with as much detail as I would of liked. BUt once again, I can tweak it again later.

I've always loved the Slayer logo, and that disc turned out pretty banging. I'd be afraid to throw it though; I hate throwing black drivers.

Well, the good thing is that I can just pull out the .eps file and cut it again in a matter of minutes. Just gotta spend the time weeding it out. So I may do another disc in the bag like that but the negative.

yeah, I did 5 dyes tonight alone.
It was well worth the money. The software does take a lot of time to manipulate the image. But F it. I get so much more done in WAYYYY less time.

I have photoshop so manipulating images are pretty easy. converting to plotting software is probably harder... ;)

yeah I'm not even talking about photoshop. I used photoshop for years in school. Right now I'm using Corel, irfanview, and 2 plotting packages. Going into it and getting it to give you a trace is crazy with the detailed images. I'm still learning too. Whatever you use to convert it over to .eps files is what you need to learn. For me right now, that's Inkscape. I tweak an image in Corel if needed, and then bring it into Inkscape.

Sometimes the images are just too much for my cutting program to even load. even when I tone it down and simplify it it just wont open the files. Crashes the program time and time again.
But it's all a learning process.
