Transfer Tape Alternatives

I kinda want to start dyeing tonight, which means I need an alternative to transfer tape, which, by all accounts, is best ordered online. Anyone have any alternatives to transfer tape? How about painter's tape?

Or, even better, anyone know any stores that sell transfer tape cheap and not in bulk?

I used painter's tape a few times. If you use the low tack version it should work ok.

i've been using the cheap wal-mart contact paper cut into small strips. seems to work just fine.

Yep, that's what I was thinking of (for some reason it translated to transfer tape in my head).

You can get contact paper for cheap at walmart (the evil empire) and it works great.
