My first multicolor dye

I was inspired by a lot of cool dyes here and after a few experiments (stripes and other super simple stuff) I thought I was ready for my first multicolor dye job. I wanted it to be quite easy to do and I decided to dye the arms of my former home town where I was born and raised.



Very simple, three colors and easy lines to cut. Still, it took me about six hours in total to complete it which tells a lot about my skills. I went with black first, which came out ok. It's a little brownish near the bottom (probably because of the dome of the Star Wraith I was dyeing) but I don't mind. I then proceeded with yellow which was by far the easiest. Red came last and it was a pain in the ass trying to align it correctly. And, I was able to mess it up and got a bleed in the top left corner. Still, I'm pretty satisfied with the result:

Not bad at all. If you are completely masking the already dyed colors when you redip, you could try starting with the lightest color, then doing black last. Any overlap would be covered by the black.

On another note, where did you find your town's coat of arms?

On another note, where did you find your town's coat of arms?

I did the yellow and red parts so that they did overlap with the black a little. Just to make sure there would be no gaps between them. I didn't see any difference in the black parts that got overlapped versus the ones that didn't. So I'd think there would be no difference in the result no matter which order you did it in.

Wikipedia has probably most if not all Finnish towns' coat of arms. I don't know what the situation is with U.S. towns and cities.

And yeah, the Glamour is my girlfriend's whose lovely hands you can see going for the TP.

What episode was that? I'm a huge Seinfeld fan and don't recall that one...

It was the episode where Jerry and George come up with the scheme that they could probably be a good boyfriend if they combined forces. He was supposed to be picking up invitations or something and got distracted while walking through the park by a disc. I believe this was during "The summer of George".

I remember all this because the guy chasing his disc down said "Hey, we need one more. Want to join us?"

Ah yes, now I recall. The "Summer of George"......
