First dye

Not amazing, and not a hard dye at all.. kinda just wanted to test things out and see how things work. I ended up tracing the image onto contact paper, then putting it on the disc and cut on the disc. (Cut a little to hard sometimes :/... But wow is cutting difficult, even on something so simple...

Couple bleeds and when I printed the image off it ended up being kind of ovalish instead of a circle but I did it anyway so its a little off center.

Better than my first few dyes for sure, you seem to have had much more patience/accuracy when cutting than I do...
I did not notice the oval-ness until you mentioned it.

Thanks man. Now that it's on the disc you dont really notice the oval unless you look closesly. Probably coulda made it a little bigger to fill the disc more aswell. But im still very pleased with the results.

Tips on cutting.... On a design like this would you do this..
Cut line, lift up xacto, turn disc, start new cut or
Cut, leave xacto on disc and turn the disc so its on the same spot..

I really wasnt sure how to do the best job.

Not bad for a first time. I don't use a swivel blade, but i don't pick up the blade until the cut is complete.

To remove the ovalish shape make sure you are not using a picture of a disc that was taken on a slight angle (kind of assuming that, but I have made that mistake before).

I have the stencil. I think I may have made it bigger when printing it off and I must have fucked it up then.

Dude...don't get down on it, smooth cuts and curves, a whole hell of a lot better than anything I did at first.

haha but its also a SUPER easy stencil.
Im happy with it other then one of small cuts on the bottom of the pic and some of the round cuts are a little choppy. Think I coulda made it a little bigger to take up more space but I like it. And most people I show it to think its pretty cool.

Im a fan of simple stuff so I think im gonna do these two next.




eh edit.. This is getting kinda long but I got a question.
How would you go about making a ring around the outside and how would you mask off the under rim so it doesnt get dye spilled over?

Second Dye
Should have taken a little more time on cutting the circle.. I did terrible on it. Tried the saran wrap again and it turned out pretty good. Cant really tell by the pic though
