ok so im working on this for my next dye and i was wondering about what sequence i should be dipping it. with the grey i was going to try and half dip black but do i do it before or after i do the colors?

This is true. You need Gray.

I recommend dipping the black first, then weeding and dipping the grey. Then, while the vinyl is still covering the white parts, unmask the colored areas and paint the colors in with a tablespoon of acetone mixed with enough rit to create your desired shade.

Be careful about slopping it on the disc, though, because if you let the acetone puddle on the disc it will eat the vinyl covering the white borders and you'll have bleeds everywhere. Just paint little brushstrokes without overloading the brush. If you mix the rit with a little laundry soap instead of acetone it will take longer for the colors to set, but bleeds shouldn't be an issue.
