window stickers as masking

So y'know those window stickers that you can get for your car?

Any of you ever used those to mask your discs when you dye them? I'm curious if they'd work for that, because I have a totally sweet one I wanna use, but I dunno if it'll bleed like a stuck pig or something...

You're talking about the ones that are basically bumper stickers, but have the 2 step application process? If so, that should work great, because they're made out of sign vinyl.

If you're talking about those static cling type ones that you use on the inside, I would trust them about as much as I'd trust cheesecloth for a condom.

Yeah the one I have has actual sticky stuff, not the static type.

Static cling - no.
Decal - yes

The stuff I use is vinyl for decals. But it's an economy grade. Meaning it's cheap and has a low adhesiveness. If I used my good quality vinyl it would be even better since it would stick more. But it would leave more residue that would be harder to clean off after.

i used some stickers for dyes that turned out great, but they were cut from vinyl.
