Darkness of colors

I heard someone else mention this once, and I now also have a slight preference for non-symmetrical dyes.

I bought some lighter colors...namely lemon yellow and scarlet red (only light colors they had). I also saw navy blue, denim blue, and wine. Are any of those colors any good or are they death traps like dark green? Ironically I spent all this time worrying about color, and my next dye was more appropriate with a simple black. Will post pics tomorrow when it is complete.

Wine is good, but tricky, because it starts off pretty dark. I like Rit's royal blue, but it all depends on the color you want. I think scarlet is the king of the reds, if I'm not mistaken.

I like the look of an off-center dye as well. It makes the image stand out even more with the unexpected misalignment.
