Colors... which work well; which don't?

I'm relatively new here and as I was looking around I noticed that it wasn't just me that was getting frustrated with the dark green stuff that just doesnt' work.

What I'm wondering is- are there other colors that don't work on plastic like they do on clothes?

How do people make colors that aren't available out of the box? are there mixes of colors that work well?

I've seen the custom color chart on rit's website but I'd rather learn from the other experts than have to keep throwing away colors like I had to do with my dark green.

The only one that didnt turn out for me was dark green.

ChUck and AciDBat are the resident dye experts. I'm sure they will have some valuable info to add.

Just follow the rit chart and you should get the colors pretty clean.
Two of my favorites are Bright navy and Cherry red.
Here's two examples that I've done.


Ive mixed a few colors for one time use but it's not too often. Chuck has some really sweet color manipulation things he's done.
I do a lot of blacks, but for my tournament donations I'm aiming to donate less discs per tourney, but on the discs I dye make the dyes more complex with more colors. I haven't really done much colors in the last half year and am aiming to change that

The only ones I would shy away from are some dark blues and dark green. If you want green use kelly green.
