Day glow orange

Postby sunspot » Mon Jun 13, 2011 5:46 pm

I got a clearish/yellow disc in a trade and I'm wanting to dye it orange. I know it requires mixing it with red. I'm wondering if it's feasible to dye it a bright day glow orange or close to it.

clear discs generally dont dye all that bright.

if youre going for orange though, tangerine > sunshine if youre not going to mix.

I was wondering this also. But instead of Champy Yellow it's Star Yellow, not the highlighter yellow either.

Was wanting to dye mine orange as well. I have zero experience with this and it doesn't have to be a deep orange or anything if it's a yellow-orange that's fine with me.

But what I was wondering to get Orange on a yellow disc do I use red dye? Or do I use Orange dye?

Thanks in advance guys.

ive done it with both scarlet and tangerine/sunshine oranges. tangerine works the best. with scarlet you have to go really easy with your dip times which, with star plastic, usually means splotches.

Came out better than I thought it would.

It looks a lil blotchy in some spots but the plastic was really swirly and had a couple nicks here and there. Either way came out 100x better than I expected and it was really really easy.

Tangerine Rit Dye worked perfectly, thanks for the advice.

Yeah it was freaking easy. I'm kind of addicted now. The number of white discs in my collection is dwindling fast.

Another question does anyone know If I can dye Orange over like yellowish/green CryZtal Z? In light if definitely looks more yellow, more green in the shade.

Basically my concern is Orange and Green = Brown =(
