Where you get your dye?

I'm having trouble finding rit dye, where is it normally located in Walmart? Or in what stores? I went to Walmart asked 3 people they all looked at me like I was stupid then tell me they think its in another department

Rit is usually found next to the laundry detergent. But beware that Rit changed their formulation recently and many disc dyers have stated that many of the colors no longer work for dying discs.

The new dye of choice is iDye Poly. http://www.jacquardproducts.com/idye.html

I don't know where you can by that in a brick and mortar store.

Yeah that's what I've noticed too. I'm too far removed from high school art class to remember how to mix colors. I've always wondered if anyone has had success mixing colors.

Try your local crafting or hobby store.
Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, Michael's or whatever. HL is closest to my home and I've always been able to find a good selection of RIT colors. They come out a little bit more expensive than Walmart, but the selection makes it worthwhile for me. I've also noticed that the majority of the colors have come out pretty good. I don't know if my store is stocking older RIT boxes or what.

I've not tried mixing any dye's, but I did a lot more than just highschool art class and experience leads me to believe it might work to some degree with lighter dyes, but darker ones won't do too well. With the right kind of paints you can mix a light and a dark and make something between. With dyes you are going to just keep making the dark darker.
