M-Audio Xponent Advanced DJ System - $350

Postby edrift101 » Fri Mar 06, 2009 3:47 pm

I have a like new M-Audio Xponent Advanced DJ Performance/Production System for sale, which comes with the Torq DJ software. Everything is in perfect working condition and has been lightly used for the past year. Personally I love this kit, but I picked up some new equipment and I'm looking to put a little money back into my savings.

FYI - I am willing to trade this equipment for a nice 2 channel mixer, turntable coffin (battle or regular style) and stand.

Also, here's a link to see the unit in use and how it looks on the stand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkJ527t0LwU

Will that thing work with Ableton Live?

Haven't tried it myself, but here's a video of some guy controlling Ableton Live with the Xponent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93oNnOd8I20

Basically, you could sync Torq/Xponent to Live via Rewire or just use the Xponent as a midi controller for Live.

I smell another musician thread bubbling....

And I bet that thing would be the super-shred with Ableton. Wouldn't you have like 4 decks between the A/B in Live and the wikka-wikka box?

I was a trance dj for 7 years I was in college. I got more into house as I got older, and more facinated by a tool like Ableton, which allows you to take a track, chop it up into loops, and remix it on the fly. Plus, all you can do with turntables is put 2 records together (well, more if your talented, but you get the point).

I have no problem dropping some coin later on a nice controller (I'd like to sell my Allen and Heath Xone 62 for a down payment on a Xone 4D), but I'd like to make a smaller investment to make sure I actually want to get back into music.

Any other electronic musicians (djs or producers) on here?
