Bag setup

Postby sunspot » Sun Feb 08, 2009 8:35 pm

Distance drivers:

168 DX Valkyrie

Fairway drivers:

175- Star Leopard
171- DX Teebird
174- MJLS
168- D XL
172- DX Gazelle

Midranges

171- Z Wasp
170- Champion Spider

Putters

172- DX Rhyno
170- Magic
165- Classic Roc
170- Pro D Banger

I'm guessing that my max distance is around 350. My golf d is around 300 to 320.

I'm going to go back to rocs as my mid-range and use them during various stages of wear.

I want to ditch the plastic I don't need and stick to certain molds. I like the Banger but I kind of want to try the Warlock.

I need some sort of overstable driver.

Comments welcome.

I do not see the need for a teebird and a gazelle. You can probably get away with using one or the other. As far as putters, pick a mold and stick with it. The putt is the one shot you want to be sure and 100% confident on equipment. Its tough to do with more then one mold.

Distance drivers:

168 DX Valkyrie

Fairway drivers:

175- Star Leopard
these overlap, choose 1
171- DX Teebird
174- MJLS
these overlap, choose 1
168- D XL
172- DX Gazelle

Midranges

171- Z Wasp
170- Champion Spider
you might want to trade the Spider for a Buzzz
Putters

172- DX Rhyno
170- Magic
165- Classic Roc
170- Pro D Banger
too many putters choose 1, 2 max

stick with the Banger, the only other putter you MIGHT want is one with more glide for tailwind putting
I need some sort of overstable driver.

I suck at Disc Golf, therefore I can't afford to carry discs that suck.

firebird or pred for the overstable driver, maybe a little closer to 170g though- easier to throw, but still overstable

I agree. Its more a feel thing here, since both do the job -very- well. Im a firebird guy myself.

MJLS
Star Leo
DX Teebird
DX Gazelle
XL

That's a lot of fairway drivers there.

XL and MJLS and Star Leo overlap = pick one
DX Teebird and DX Gazelle overlap = pick one

If you want to be hardcore minimalist, pick the JLS and get a QJLS to cover the teebird/gazelle slot. *OR* beat the snot out of your DX teebird to fill the XL/JLS/Leo slot and get yourself another DX or Champ TB (also works with Gazelles, but Champ Gazelles are harder to come by).

I'll probably get a Pred. I'm wondering what kind of plastic I should get it in? X, Z, ESP

I like the JLS but I was wondering if is able to shape as many lines as the Gazelle.

If I pick the TB, what weight should I get judging from my distance?

X is OOP but can be found. Beats in much quicker than the other plastics, not as stable to start either. I think most people prefer Z for durability, but I've never had issues with the ESP. I like all three. For a meathook slot, I'd go with either ESP or Z, depending on your grip preference, around 172.

Anywhere from 166-170 would probably be suitable.
