And the Ascents? I guess the verdict is "nay"? Material of the disc not your cup of tea?

Really enjoy the ascents but the eagles are like my most entrenched disc in my bag so a disc has got to be phenomenal to kick them out.

good to know. been wondering what you've been up to since getting canned on DGCR... I know you've said the Ascent is very comparable to the Eagle's (throwing harder, as you often mentioned) but I understand going back to the disc you're loyal to. I've done that to Rocs a couple of times and I honestly just feel like I'm leaving a good relationship whenever I do. That and all you've invested in your Eagles....

question though... why are you carrying the Gator (indulge my noobness?)?

A couple of reasons

1)I usually have a star roc in that spot but realized recently that I don't really use the star roc except for things like forehand approaches and more extreme hyzers b/c the new DX roc handles all the other duties. The star roc is good for this spot but the gator is made for those shots so I just decided to put the gator back in the bag to handle those shots

2) This time of year in NC it is crazy windy out and having a piggy wind fighting mid in the bag is crazy useful and it gets more play than it does in the summer. I also have a super crazy overstable pred in the bag right now that only gets used during the months of Dec-April b/c of the wind.

So my bag is pretty set for the tourney season but the one spot vexing me is my touch approach putter. I have four options

rattler
First run ion
gopher
super floppy summit

I can't decide

No beat and/or light Wizard for that spot?

I'm having this issue as well, think I'll be needing a rattler even though I have a FR Ion in the bag. With FR and Medium Ions 165-175g I got most putter range shots covered, but I still miss a "real" touch disc like the Rattler sometimes (and something with more fade than the Ions, but so far I get by with powering down on mids)

I've gone back and forth between Rattlers, Polecats and Sonics for this spot, with a brief Whitler stint. Right now it's the Sonic, it feels the best in my cold damp hands right now, and I feel like it can handle a touch turnover flick, which is a common shot for me with these type discs.

Rattler is leading the charge right now but man first run ions are fun to throw also.

go with a firm summit, it's a small diameter comet without all the glide.

The thing that keeps me from loving the summit is the LSS.

like too much lss or lack thereof? the ones that I throw (firm, garden hose green) have minimal if no LSS, or maybe it's just how I'm throwing them. It seems like I really have to get the nose up to make them fade if I'm keeping them <10' off the ground - but my approach distance with it is generally <120' so that may be a factor too.

whatever floats your boat! I haven't thrown any Ions so I can't make a comparison there.

All the summits I've tried have a lot of LSS. They really didn't like being powered down on. I am still messing with my super floppy one and hope to beat the LSS out of it eventually.
