Do you find yourself using the Drone much? I've carried one off and on for periods but it seems like I tend to usually reach for my overstable driver instead and it ends up just taking up space in the bag.

What are your thoughts on the Aftershock? I threw one a few times this weekend and wasn't too impressed. I loved the plastic and it felt great in the hand but it was sluggish out of my release and seemed to just die and drop out of the air.

The FLX drone has a place in the bag. Wind beater. It's solid for up to 250-270ish in any type of wind. It has less skip than a driver.
It is easier to let the drone rip than try to slow down my driver speed. I also use my newer talon for approach shots as well. Overall, yes - the drone does take up space.. Until that windy 30-40mph day.. you pull it out and unleash the beast. This alone makes it worth its weight in spades.

Aftershock - initial review, has potential. The fade is not as severe as it is on a buzz. Reminds me of an overstable comet. I agree with the plastic and how it feels in the hand. That is what got me trying them. Mine has not died and dropped yet - works well in its comfort zone. It has its jekyll and hyde moments. Certain throws make me come back for more but still baffled by it. The problem for me is trying to decide if it fills a slot or just a fun recreational disc to toss.

After a couple days in snow, mud and 40mph winds.. Surprisingly, 3 out of 4 throws were able to stick it to the headwind rather well.

they are much more overstable than the first run and a touch more overstable and faster than the stock run.

The speed and stability is evident. Definitely a better hurricane for the big arms out there.

I was amazed at the skip factor at the end of the drive 350' away, then again the ground might still be hard.

It held a hyzer all the way through and just might replace the Tsunami's on certain throws.

Clear and yellow are the 2 choices so far.

Here goes the 2011 journey..

So after 36 holes today (second day I threw on the course in 2011)

sparkle Hurricanes are pigs. They held up surprisingly well with 25mph headwinds.
The sparkle hurricane and the tsunami were the only discs to hold up to the headwinds.

1st run Hurricanes are my favorite distance disc. Finally notched a 452 feet flat-hole for my first ever birdie.
proline rogue is a sweet anhyzer slide disc
sparkle rogue is a great line driver

Aftershocks - put on the shelf for now. They just dropped after the initial flight and I could not get them to hold up in the air or meet my expectations halfway.
D-Titanics. Too fast n squirrelly for me. I like my putters overstable, challenger overstable. The magnet has potential for driving and long jump/upshots.

Ok, my third day of the year throwing. Yes, we just got snow today, people. Snow in wisconsin after Spring was declared. Ugh.

Took out an extra sleeve from my silverback for two more discs
added a x avenger for my roller slot and a trashed pro-d cyclone for my get out of jail shot.

the sparkle rogue tested out as my fairway driver on low line drives.
The sparkle hurricane held its hyzer line in 20mph winds. really sweet disc. hurricanes are going to be my go to driver.

Carrying 16 discs is 1 disc above my usual. I'm also tempted to fiddle with the aftershocks again. There were a couple shots i wanted to just float in an aftershock towards the basket instead of using my challengers.

I'm still thinking about the understable mid slot.

So, after three pdga events this year and 940-950 middling golf episodes

Hurricanes, Rogues, Talons are pretty much set as my drivers.
Squall, Buzz, Drone as my mids
Challengers for my putters.

Sparkle Hurricane for the wind
Pro World Hurricanes for D up to about 430 (if i'm that lucky)
Proline Rogues for the sky anny / hyzer flip / long turnburner.
Sparkle Rogue for the sky hyzer when I need a long sweep
Talons as my fairway driver do all. I carry three of those in various stages of wear.
Still looking for an out of the box flipper instead of my beat snotnosed talons..

Squall as my distance mid. Them basket stamped squalls are pretty sweet. Two solid "in the circle" parkjobs on hole A at SRO. I chickened out putting 25-30 feet in the 30mph winds, electing to layup for dropins.

Z buzz earned me another tourney ace with barry schultz's $5. Thanks Barry! I wonder if my ace earn more $ than rusch's amazing play.

And then there are the challengers. The funky old Discraft Challenger Font chalky style as well as the Cam Todd stiffness.
