A Buzzz and a Beer's tourney Bag

Postby A buzzz and a beer » Sat Mar 26, 2011 2:59 am

Hoping to go to a doubles tourney on sunday at a course ive never played. That is if my knee feels good enough (just messed it up two weeks ago). Then onto a tourney each week after for about 5 straight weeks. Here is the bag I plan on using.

174 Esp Nuke (beat)
174 Z Nuke (new)
175 S Boss (beat)
175 S Boss (new) - Bosses will be replaced by destroyers once they get beat in a bit. These bosses are more overstable than normal
174 Esp Surge (new)
174 Esp Surge (beat)

175 C Firebird (newish)
175 S PD (newish)
175 P PD (newish)

177 Esp Flx Drone (beat)
177 Z Buzzz (new)
177 Z buzzz (beat)
177 Z Buzzz SS (new)
177 Esp Meteor (beat)

168 D Ringer (beat)
174 Crystal Z Challenger (newish)
174 D Challenger (newish) -main putter
174 D challenger (beat) -secondary putter

Comment if you like. Ill be trying to keep this as my bag post as I change it during the year depending on how things go.

wouldnt the beat drone be similar to a buzzz? it seems like when my drone got beat it was just like a z buzzz.
Also are u comfortable powering down your pd's? if not you should get a eagle or a tl something to fill that gap.....

I know exactly what your saying but I've carried both (beat Drone/new Buzzz) for 2 or more years now and they coexist quite nicely...bits of overlap I suppose but at the same time their speeds and LSS's vary a lot giving you more flight patterns than just a new 175+ Z Buzzz could do.

The beat drone is still really overstable. It probably isnt as beat as you would think. Its more of a utility disc so it doesn't get used as much. Mainly spike hyzers, big hyzers around something, and strong wind disc. I have been trying out a new Hornet in this spot too, but the drone seems to just be more consistant for me.

I am still getting use to the PDs so that is the spot that will have the most try outs this season. I am waiting to try eagles, TLs and those till league starts so I have some discs that I want to pick for winning (we do discs for prizes instead of cash). In the past I haven't used many fairway drivers. I would either go with a buzzz or a powered down surge. One of my main goals this year is to get better with fairway drivers.

Update

Star Boss (freak overstable one, Holloween stamp)
Z Nuke
Esp Nuke
Esp Surge (Beat)
Esp Surge (new)

Star Valkyrie
Champ Eagle
Champ Teebird
Z Predator

Z buzzz (New)
Z Buzzz (beat)
Z Buzzz SS
Esp Flx Drone

Ringer
Crystal Z Challenger
Pro D challenger (flippy for approaches or long putts)
Pro D challenger (stable and new, main putter)

I really liked throwing the PD's but they just overlapped with my Surge's too much. I am trying out the Eagle and Teebird combo right now for fairway spots. The main problem I have is my course is all Drivers and Putters. I don't get a chance to really throw them much.

Bag Update. Its changed many times over the last year, but I am really happy with my current bag and haven't changed anything in a month+. For reference backhand 425+ max (400 on disc golf lines), 375+ Forehand, spin putter(finally went back, and ive been hitting every 40 footer like nothing. No idea why i switched to push in the first place.)

174 Star Boss (distance with some turn)
150 Blizz Boss (BOOM)
174 Echo Destroyer (Perfect flight)
174 Star Destroyer (Super Overstable)
168 Star Destroyer (Max D destroyer)

174 Z Predator (most overstable I have ever found)
171 C PD (slightly overstable)
174 S PD (Straight)
174 P PD (Flippy)
174 S FD (longer buzzz?)

177 Flx Drone (wind or spikes)
177 Z Buzzz (really overstable, for a buzzz)
177 Ti Buzzz (straight)
174 Z Buzzz (little understable but fights back)
177 Esp Meteor/ 177 Buzzz SS (only thing that changes, understable slot)

174 Crystal Z Challenger (old good ones, stable)
174 Crystal Z Challenger (newer not as good ones, straight)
174 Pro D Challenger (Main putter)
174 Pro D challenger (second putter same condition)

I really haven't found any type of shot I can't do with this bag. I really have grown to love the PD, in the different plastics they can just do about everything. The FD is the main disc that I do not know that well yet. It's been hard for me to get a really good feel for it so far. Right now I'm getting use to how much hyzer to put on it, or how to finese it the right amount.
