My new bag - critique wanted

Postby mikepowles » Mon Oct 28, 2013 8:29 pm

So I recently chucked my teerex into a pond, and even though it was unnecessary, it caused me to rethink and retool my whole setup. Just for reference, I throw distance drivers about 375, maybe 400 if everything is perfect, fairways up to 325, mids 290-300, putters 225-250. My lineup is as follows.

Trespass: Go to distance driver, long hyzers
Tern: Big long S-curves, also flex for long anhyzers
Shock: Fairway of choice for wind, tight skips around corners
Volt: Go to fairway for tunnels or just shorter open holes
Amp: Just like the tern, but 50 feet shorter
Hornet: Just like the shock, but shorter
Truth: straight mid for tunnels, or when I am unsure what to throw
Tangent: Hyzer flip for dead straight, flat release for a nice anhyzer that holds forever
Zone: Wind putter, upshots that require hard fade around trees
Anode: Go to putter for everything, favorite disc in the bag

I also have an old z reaper in the bag that I found, it only comes out for tommys and thumbers

Its almost perfect, just needs PD's. In all 3 plastics.
Current bag is sloppy yet fun; Judges, comet, wasp, FD's, river?, saint?, PD's, Flow, D1, Nuke, ...

LOL. I was going to say firebird. I love my firebird for flicks, rollers, spike hyzers, overheads, and skips.

Aren't volts and shocks speed 10, distance drivers? You may need a overstable fairway driver like a rival, teebird, or eagle. Now that you're throwing further, controlled distance shots where accuracy is more important can mean more birdies. I'd be worried that a volt may overshoot or turn.

volt and shock are speed 9 and 8 respectively I think. At least thats how they fly for me. My shock is actually pretty short, making me think that I don't need an eagle. I can just power down the shock or rip the hornet, and cover everything. Thoughts?
