I never liked the XD.... it always tried to cut the bottom of my fingers if you tried to throw it hard.

I'd add a slightly overstable mid, like a Sentinel, Wasp or Roc

I agree. I could easily pick up your bag and throw a round on any course with no problems, but a stable mid is the one type of disc I would miss for some shots.
