It's not the rain that bothers me, it's the lightning. Plus a lot of the tee boxes around here are dirt, and drain poorly, which means that when you play them in the rain they get torn up really badly and turn into "ankle-ruiners" for everybody else who plays after you...better to take a day off in my opinion. Many of the parks around here close during storms for this reason, and to prevent unnecessary erosion.
If the lightning stays away today I'll probably head out to one of the courses with concrete tees...with some towels in the bag, obviously
