My bag this season

So after swapping out discs constantly for the last however long, I have settled on (for the moment at least)

Drivers
Max Distance Driver: 167 Star Valk
Overstable Driver: 169 11x Champion Firebird
Moderately Overstable Driver: 168 DX Teebird (newish)
Control Driver(s):3 DX Gazelles, 168-170g, various stages of wear

Mids
3 DX Rocs 169-172
1 168 Champion Shark (tryout slot)

Putters
171 DX Aviar (beat)
171 12x KC Pro Aviar (almost seasoned)
171 Proto Wizard (sweet!!!)

Do I need an understable driver? I have a Gazelle that I work more often than the others and I am considering using that for the understable slot but mebbe I should toss a leopard in the mix until I beat the gazelle in real nice...? Also, thinking about swapping out some DX plastic over the winter and was wondering what to replace the gazelles and/or rocs with. Lemme know what you think!!

Your Gazelle will be a Leopard sooner if you never put the Leopard in the bag. In other words, using your Gazelle more will break it in faster. Good idea, though.

Base plastic is actually probably the easiest to get a good grip with in wet or otherwise crappy conditions. The caveat is that it can break on a heavy impact when it's freezing out.

Also, I'm on board with everyone else in saying an aged DX Gazelle will make a great understable control driver.

I am worried about splitting money rocs on trees and bedrock. I play courses that are pretty tough on plastic and last year during the winter months I watched multiple guys split DX/Pro D/base plastic. I have some SB Ranchos and a few other premium plastic mids and I was thinking mebbe I'll start working with a few of those. Which plastic(s) offer the best grip in the cold???

Oh, I am totally keeping the Gazelle in the bag instead of the leopard, I figure I'll play some one disc rounds and get it where I feel it needs to be. Thanks to everyone for the advice

If I'm not mistaken, FLX plastic was designed to be good in the cold.

Awesome !!! That means I can put the FLX Buzz back in the bag and mebbe even score myself another one. Does anyone know if they make the Drone or Wasp in FLX? Sometimes my Buzz just doesn't fade hard enough for me. Which is why it lost out to my rocs in the first place.

They make FLX Drones but they were a limited edition and only in heavy weights. The people who have them generally don't want to give them up.

Given their popularity I wouldn't be surprised if another run comes along soon.
