changed technique

Postby rehder » Fri May 15, 2009 12:09 pm

ok, my throwing has been pretty good the last couple of weeks. I feel like Im hitting it better, now I havent seen myself since my thow changed a bit, and I wanted to get some video in before the bad weather hits for most of next week.

Unfortunately there where a lot of soccer players playing right up to the football fiels I was throwing on, so I didnt get a chance to really huk it. The two roc shots where pretty well powered though and the cyclone was what felt like 55-70%

So what do you think?

why do you pull with the disc vertical? Is that so you can get it in closer?

no, its a bad habit, I have a hard time getting rid off. But its not one of my priorities either, since I usually hit the angle of release I want to hit

Hej Christian.

Looking at your left knee as the disc leaves the hand you can see that there's a lot of untapped power potential because it is still bent. That straightening correction helps to push your weight forward and twisting faster with the hips. Something that needs work. Your disc to chest distance ain't bad but there's room to improve. You are getting the elbow out quite nicely but 5 cm more could help. Anny steps to hyzer throw so about 15 cm+ planting to the right helps with accuracy. And wobble control which is of paramount importance in the winds of Denmark. With the frame rate I couldn't tell for sure but it looked like the disc could pivot more. Relaxing the arm pull early on helps to accelerate harder at the hit. IIRC your arm speed has improved visibly.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.
