We shot some video last weekend, so I thought that this would be a perfect time to ask for some pointers and tips. I tend to miss a lot of easy putts (30 feet or less) and typically my drives go high - stall and fall (250 ft average). So, any help/tips/comments would be appreciated.

Hard to say with so much to watch. It'd be much easier if you just drove some in a field and got video, that way folks could see what you're doing quick and easy and repeatedly.

With the putting, don't walk forward until after the disc comes to rest in the basket, unless you're outside 30'. I'd guess that you're somewhat new to the sport, so more putting will get you more confidence and more consistency.

Driving. You're not using your hips or torso/shoulders, it's all just an arm pull through. You also seem to be swooping a bit from back to front. You dip down in the middle of your throw and come up a litte at the front - might just be relaxing the wrist, but you need to work on keeping the nose of the disc down and that'll give you more distance and stop the stalls.

I actually really like your form. It seems nice and compact with a lot of snap. Its hard to tell if youre doing it on purposed, but there are a lot of drives thrown nose up. If you get your weight more forward and keep your wrist down you will get a truer flight.

Your weight appears to be off to the right and behind your plant leg. Try to stay more "over the disc" and over your plant leg--if not in front of your plant leg.

The other guy is better at weight forward and has solid for too. I like his forehand.

Your follow through is not pure. Check your routine...when you swing the disc as you are on the pad you are swinging it from high to low. You should only be doing this for an anhyzer. On a flat throw the follow through should be straight across, for a hyzer it should be from low to high...etc.

Search the forums for "plane preservation" --there should be some good info.

Acorn Park is my home course. I live not even a mile from there, that's where I go to touch up my game by playing safari, work out in the fields, and play a casual round. I go there all the time.

Critique:

Kick your back leg up to ensure weight forward and more of a follow through.

Like Aaron D was saying your not getting enough weight forward (meaning your body is not punching itself towards the target) and your follow through is not pure.

Plus maybe we could take some videos on critique with me since people around these forums need a fix soon. =p

Uh... #1 tip, hook up with Masterbeato. He can give you some on-site tips, suggestions and you can ask him how he does whatever. Better than anything we can dig up via video.

Nothing about this is correct. You don't have to wait until the disc comes to rest, you just have to show balance after you release the disc. Also, it's not 30 feet, it's 10 Meters, which is 32.8 feet. Not a big deal, but really can make a difference.

Ok, I've been practicing the weight shift (forward) and trying to flatten out my throw. Also, trying to keep the disc closer to my chest during my throw and snapping it forward. Still working on the other suggestions.

This is going to take awhile, but it'll be worth it next season! Thanks again for all the help!
