There are no 'holes' in disc golf. The term 'hole' is presumably derived from traditional ball golf where the object to is move the ball into a hole. The term 'hole' is defined by the 2013 PDGA rules as "A numbered segment of the course that is a separate unit for scoring."
100 years from now will PDGA officials be debating changing archaic terminology in favor of something derived from prototypical nicknames for 'holes' currently occasionally cropping up as alternative references to what is now commonly called a 'hole''?
