Sticking the Chains

Postby TexasOutlaw » Tue Sep 05, 2006 10:48 am

I find myself without an ace though hitting chains several times per round. Do y'all have any advice on sticking it? Or is it something that will happen eventually?

I hit the chains twice on the same hole with my slipstream, but it didn't stay in the basket.

it sticks better if it comes down at a little bit more of an angle. the one i hit hit the pole and the bottom of the basket at the same time.

I cant give advice on sticking the chains, usually I feel aces happen when a good drive is alittle high.

My bounce outs usually happen on line drive ace runs, while my aces usually were on the fade, when the disc is decelerating and losing altitude.

it'll happen. you just gotta keep running it... they don't all stick. i mean, how can you really go for an ace vs. a birdie? try and miss high or far vs. laying up for bird? that don't sound good. i've heard people saying they ace when they're just going for bird. my only ace was definitely going for bird but when i let go i knew it had a chance... $250, too (the weekly ace pot).

If you're hitting chains from the tee, I wouldn't change a damn thing lol.

heh, dude, i've hit chains 18 times this year without an ace, bringing my total to 114 hits without an ace.

i did ace on a 420' object hole though... but i don't count that.

Yeah but you have aces bud; I want my ace! hehe

It's a tough choice going for a safe shot that is. I can play a safer game and increase my score by +/- 3-5 strokes, but it's not as much fun as just going after it. I can probably birdie all but 2 holes on my course. Actually, most of the time if I miss even with a fly through or bounce out, I'm in great position for a putt.

I may start trying to play for a skip ace because that's what most of the locals do to get aces.

playing "safari" golf, where you pick objects such as trees, signs, trash cans ect. (or played w/ tone poles). so instead of slamming chains and watching the disc sit in the basket, you just watch it bounce off of something you were aiming for, not as exciting but still a ton of fun (I dont play enough safari)
