I've been throwing for about a year now, and have kind of hit a plateu in terms of distance-I'm able to reach about 380 when I'm throwing well, but day to day average is about 300 with accuracy.
This isn't bad, but what is killing me is consistency-I'm unable to find a repeatable grip that I feel comfortable with-I have very small hands for a full grown adult (about 7 inches from heel of the palm to the tip of my middle finger), and I have a hard time wrapping my fingers around the rim of most discs with a full four finger grip. What works well for me so far is throwing a beat up DX beast very hyzer (90 degrees to the ground on the pull through) with a two finger grip-however, counting on having a consistently beat DX disc in your bag is difficult.
When i throw something like a champion beast level, i get the flight pattern i should, but I still feel like my grip is off-after playing about 60 holes on Saturday, I've noticed a nice spot on the tip of my index finger that is rubbed raw, which has never happened before on a 60+ hole day for me. Also, I'm only rarely getting the "rip," and i'm pretty sure its coming from the grip-I do not feel at all like I'm holding the disc nearly firmly enough.
Basically, what is happening is the grip thing has led me to much experimentation and thus inconsistency in my throws, so, any suggestions on grips or maybe different discs or something. What my goal is to throw a little longer while keeping my accuracy.
