I'm in the 500' club!

I got a few pics of me driving in a tournament last weekend. Nothing much, but it's something. I've got a few bad quality vids coming up too, not sure yet if they're worth posting here.

Me driving off a tee on a 550' hole. (#6 on the map http://7k.fi/kuvat/albumit_kuvat/421_sm-2009-lauste.png)



The disc is a trashed 175g Star Teerex, and it went at least 470' with a tiny tailwind. Maybe further, but not much.


And here's me throwing a bomb hyzer with a Star Max on #8, about half way to the basket.

Here's some crappy quality vids from tee #1. The hole plays 430' with an uphill (about 15-20') pin, my drives go to around 400'. You need a 500ish drive to get to the green.

The first two are warm ups before doubles in friday, the last shows my (and a guy from my group too) first round drive from the same tee.

I threw a few 500+ fore hands today with my Wraith. I had the wind with me on a a couple of them though. What's both depressing and encouraging, a friend of mine that doesn't play did the same, twice. It's ridiculous. It was probably his twentieth throw, and he threw it with a Max. I was literally dumb founded. I was very happy today with those throws, though. I think I can throw a Wraith further than a Boss on a distance line. But on low lines, I like the boss.

If you can really throw this far I'd love to see you break the world distance record set by Scott Stokely (arguably the best forehander ever) Scott holds the World Forehand Distance Record at 158 meters / 518.3 feet. He worked for years to achieve this type of distance. I'd love to see video of you doing this

I'd also love to see your non playing friend throw a Max 500 (or anyone else for that matter)Once again proof is in the pudding-let's see some video

There's Ville Piippo of Finland too. He throws around the same D with forehand and way over 400' with a tomahawk.

With the right wind I bet I could throw a 500' forehand. I can barely reach 400' backhand(same forehand D) but one day with 20-25mph L to R tailwinds I threw 3/8 discs 500-530' with the shortest disc being about 425-450'.

When I played with Ben Calhoun when he was in town he said the same thing. I think Geoff is the only person capable of approaching that distance forehand. I would love to see anyone else even come close to this.

Edit: J. Koling will probably get up near there in the future. That kid has amazing raw talent.

So it seems, just like there seems to be a lot of flutter. But there isn't, and the nose isn't up. That's why I said "crappy quality". :-------)

No, since I've thrown over 500ft only 2 times, and it isn't something I can do on command. Sometimes it just happens when I throw hard, I'd like to know the difference of a 450' throw compared to a 500' throw. 450' is something I believe I can do into a decent wind with a couple of throws.
