how come when i throw a big hyzer it seems i am getting more snap than if i would throw it flat?

It's possible you are getting more elbow extension (and acceleration through the rip more) on your hyzer throws than others. I found that this was the case with my throws as I was working on uncoiling my arm fully through the hit. I sometimes got good snap on hyzers even before I realized my problem of not focusing my energy into the lower arm extension, because when throwing a hyzer I naturally extendend my arm more since it starts lower and the hit is more out infront your body.

beast is correct.
the other factor is that you can keep the disc closer to your body on a hyzer than on a flatter shot.
