recent right hip pain

Postby eg37167 » Tue Jun 20, 2006 1:35 pm

I throw RHBH and play no more than twice a week. I just developed some pain in the hip socket area of my right leg. I notice it when I try to pivot on that leg now even just in normal walking.
Is this perhaps a technique flaw that has aggravated it, or unrelated altogether? The pain can get sharp depending on the extent of my turn, but is always brief...

sounds like you are jamming your pivot.

the pivot should feel almost like a spin on your right foot... (regardless of where you pivot, ball, heel, toes, etc.).

does yours feel that way?

No, actually I don't think it does feel that way, so I must be doing something wrong . Maybe I need to do some research on footwork here so I can repair my technique. At least this gives me a clue.

Thanks for this site, Blake-- it is a fantastic resource!

It's possible when you follow through you are stepping down hard on yoru right leg, that coudl cause some pain in your hips.
