Patagonia Shoes?

Postby colombo117 » Fri Mar 26, 2010 10:35 am

These are kinda pricey, but I like the skate shoe look. And it looks like they have a nice Vibram sole. Has anyone had any experiences with Patagonia Shoes? Good or bad.

I tested out the low top version of this shoe and it worked out "ok" except for they just never fit my arch well and they were not water resistant enough for me. The pros were they acted very nice on cement tees and the tread was not so aggressive that it would cake on mud and give you that +10lbs foot feeling. They also had a flatter sole that I liked too. I have tried some shoes that feel like their sole is so narrow I was worried it was easier to roll my ankle on super flat hard surfaces like cement tee pads. I really appreciated the soles on these being so wide I had sure footing the whole time I was on the tee.

If money is no object to you and you have a flatter/smaller foot then I think these could be a great fit because you could always spend more on making them more water resistant. I ended up finding a shoe that better fit me, was way more water resistant and had a great toe cover on Steep and Cheap for 1/3 of the price.

Yeah, I have wide feet. Thanks for the input. What are you currently wearing?

Montrail Flow Hiking Shoe

It appears these are now discontinued. Kinda makes me a sad bear.

I have the Patagonia drifters as well (not the gore-tex though). Great shoes for wet/winter play. The tread is really knobby and the capilene is real nice on the inside. I use Adidas Supernova trail runners for warm weather and more gentle courses.
