Union Suit

Postby Discwrangler » Sun Jan 02, 2011 1:35 pm

Anybody have any experience wearing one of these for disc golf?

I was looking for a longtailed shirt to stay tucked in and I found the union suits. I'm still in shock that they pretty much only come in red, from every company. They are all cotton, which makes me wonder if I'll have it soaked by the end of the day from sweat. I'm also wondering about mobility in the shoulder/ arm areas.

Cotton will have you soaked early in the day. It doesn't wick away moisture or dissipate it by breathing. Cotton sucks for sports.
Flat shots need running on the center line of the tee and planting each step on the center line. Anhyzer needs running from rear right to front left with the plant step hitting the ground to the left of the line you're running on. Hyzer is the mirror of that.

long as you wear nothing but the US you should be good.

might have to drop the back door for optimal ventilation.:|

what are you minin' for gold in them thar hills?

and I agree with Apoth; drop the back flap.

and yes the cotton will prove useless in this application. I think they sell these more as costume/joke wear. if they made them in wool I would own a pair.

Kokatat Men's Polartec Power Dry Liner. Pricey at $150 but the brand is bomber. I have Kokatat pieces that are twenty years old. The suit is built for playing in melt water (under a drysuit) and is made to move with the wearer. I tried one of these, or at least one of it's predecessors, many years back and found it to be overly warm for me but then I can be fairly cold tolerant.
...there was a time when you were taught to find the best disc for you, not the best disc for your situation on the course, which is how they are sold now. IMO, the flight charts are basically there to point out all the stuff you dont have in your bag and why you suck.
