Doubles Tourny

On August 19th I am planning on playing in a doubles tourny with my friend Robb at our local course. This will be the first semi-organized event I have played. I have a few questions. First, how are doubles tournaments normally played? Also, any advice or strategy? I am starting to get somewhat comfortable with my bag, but my form seems to change from day to day. I plan on getting out a lot more over the next couple of weeks to really dial everything in. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Oh and Blake, what do you charge to fly out for a quick coaching session?

All the double comps I've played have been best shot.

Both players tee off, then you choose which lie to play from. Then both shoot from that lie, and you choose which lie to play from. So on and so on...
Score for hole is number of lies + hole out, not total shots.

Strategies...when your partner parks a shot, you forget about any consiquenses and make a run for that basket no matter how far out you are. Who knows, that .0001% chance will show up one day.

Hrm, you may know your partner (I've only played in random draws) and one of you may be a better putter/upshooter/driver than the other. Let the better go first and then the second can make the runs.

6 holes best shot, 6 holes alt. shots, 6 holes worst shot. worst shot is my fav, its a huge equalizer, just because the other team gets to choose what disc you play, and both partners have to make the putt.

yeah, it stinks sometimes though, Ive hit a 200' birdie while playing worst shot...

cant say I did, I Would have counted it as an ace in my book though, would be poed that it probably wouldnt count to an ace pot though...

its still an aswome feeling watching them go in though
