Bad games

Ever play a round and everything seems to go wrong, can't throw a decent shot for anything. I just had one of those. What a friggin pain.

seems to work that way. you just have those rounds where the wind takes your drive OB and the putts dont seem to want to stay in the chains. As frustrating as it is, you eventually will hit that long putt or park one right underneath the basket which makes you completely forget about your bad rounds and keeps you playing for more.

thats the truth!
usually when I have a really crappy game I'll stop at the 9th hole. I figure I play about 6 times a week, so leaving early one day isn't too bad. Otherwise I tend to go so frustrated I end up playing even worse.

I had a day like this on Sunday. Granted, the winds were 20 mph and I was playing on a REALLY tough couse, but I couldn't drop any putts, couldn't get any approaches near the basket around 100 ft, Couldn't find the fairway from 300 away....all sorts of problems. I totally exploded, and finished the last 8 holes or so in total anguish. After the 18th, I putted for a while, calmed down, and played another 10, this time trying to focus on each shot, and only each shot.

Let's share all of our recent bad rounds to make donromer feel better, shall we? On my last league I shot +18 on a calm day, with my handicap at 19(24-hole course). Every putt for par would hit metal but wouldn't drop. I had one drive land an inch out of bounds, and got a disc stuck in a tree on the ONE hole where the 2 meter rule applies. That was fun because playing on the league is always fun, but damn what a rough round.

we should keep this as an active thread. Everybody can vent after a terrible round!

I agree. I've often found that venting a bad round gets it out of my mind quicker.

Yesterday I was +12 after 12 holes, so I went ahead and kicked over a tree. That did the trick, I parked the next 5 holes.

last day I got to play (3 rounds) I shot two +5's and a 0 (average score lately has been a -2, the best being a -6) almost every putt I should have made was an embarassing miss. wasnt even all that windy, just one of the bad days.

when youre having a bad round is a good time to practice tourney mindset. I ate myself alive during one round (and generally over the weekend) during my last tourney.

If youre playing really bad see how much you can improve during the course of that round. I was lucky that most of my mistakes resulted in par not bogies...

I find that I recover much better from bad holes on doubles day, when someone else is keeping the score card, and Im not really thinking about what my score is.

I havn't had a bad round lately. I keep having real good opening holes from the pros and then the last five holes I just go to shit and end up finishing bogey, bogey, double, bogey, bogey. Damn it! I hate you last five holes.
