Cold Weather Clothing

I played two wicked windy rounds today and other than a windbreaker.....i got eaten alive by mother nature. Thank god for a fleece beanie and chap stick...

anyone have any ideas on how to beat the wind?

windblocker fleece, I just spent 80$ on an REI windblocker fleece. It's way warmer and less bulk then all my other fleece. Worth the extra money!

Played today in 20 degree weather - sweated like it was 80.

I witnessed the mosquitos at Acadiana first hand and those big b@stards are vicious!!! I used to live in Fl. so I have plenty of mosquito experience but I didn't expect to get, literally, chased out of a park by them! This was 3 years ago almost to the day.

ok with the underamour, for the cold you will want cold gear. i have 2 of them from soccer. and they make you feel alot warmer in 20 degree weather. especially when standing around. but after you get running (in soccer) you had to take them off because you got way way to hot. but they should be great for disc golf. im going to be wearing mine wednesday when i play. i mean i paid 50 a piece for mine so im getting some more use out of them

I was at Sports Authority yesterday. Underarmour was $79 Hot Chillys $40 Duofold $28. I opted for the Duofold and they're very comfortable and warm.

Last monday it was 70 degrees here in PA. Today it was 30 with a windchill factor of 16. What a difference a week makes.

Under Armour was $79 for just one piece, or both top and bottom together? One piece is $49 here...

There were some pieces that were $49 ea but the long sleeve thermal top was $79 by itself.

For $79 I can score a duofold top and bottom, an old navy windstopper vest and still have money left over for a starbucks expresso.

The LLBean version of Underarmor is quite a bit cheaper and from what I understand, at least as good.

I like the couple of pieces of Underarmor i picked up, but it was pricey in my opinion. I got the 50 dollar top.

I did see that Walmart had some similar material for like 12 bucks. I'll prolly go buy some of the ultra cheap stuff there and wear it for casual rounds and whatever, where im not afraid to mess it up, and wear the expensive stuff for tournaments for a more professional look.

I have an underarmor loose fit shirt that I wear as my first layer for cold golf. I couldnt find it last weekend and ended up at Walmart in the sporting goods section to buy something. found an XL wally brand knock off bought it and like it better than the 60 dollar underarmor shirt, the way it is cut allows more freedom of movement IMO.

I think the most important thing is having a silk or synthetic layer next to your skin and keeping layers light and loose. I play in the undershirt with a wool-poly blend sweatshirt over it down to about 20 when its colder than that I take the wollie off and wear a down coat over the undershirt and pop the coat off to throw.

thank god I live in florida and its like 75 degrees today! hottest december I can remember (although im only 25)
