Rules Question

I wasn't sure where to put this so here it is. 2 questions
1. My shot lands in the fairway. I mark the disk and choose to take a runup for the second shot. How far back am I allowed to go to make the throw? 2. My approach shot comes to rest, I mark the disc and setup to putt. Does one of my feet need to be directly behind the mini? I've been looking for this in the rule book and just can't find it.

1. I believe you have as far back as you need. Technically, I think it's back to the front of the teepad, but if you're in the middle of the fairway, that shouldn't be a problem.

2. I think your foot has to be within the diameter of the disc that you picked up behind the mini...so, in most cases anywhere within about 9" directly behind your mini.

1: As far as you like, but as you've only got 30 seconds to throw, I'd suggest less than 100m, unless you're really quick!

2: "Have at least one supporting point that is in contact with the playing surface on the line of play and within 30 centimetres directly behind the marker disc"
The "line of play" is defined as a line running from the centre of the pole, through the centre of the marker disc.

thanks for the replies but that leads me to another question. Where do I have to release this runup? within the 30cm of the mark or at any point in a line behind the lie?

It's within 30cm and on a point in a line behind the center of the marker. 30cm to the side doesn't count.

The "line of play" is defined as a line running from the centre of the pole, through the centre of the marker disc.
