This is my 2nd year playing.

I'm lucky too throw 300'.

I think drive distance is way over-rated in this sport.

Sure it looks pretty too see a disc fly but if your approach / putt game suck.....well so does your score.

Example: My friend outdrives me by 50-75 feet everytime, but I usually end up 5-6 strokes under him.

Accuracy is much more important than distance. (imo)

Yeah Old Tyme, I think I'm on board with your opinion about now. I have had to forsake backhand driving temporarily (woeful distance) and went to forehand where I'm crushing (heh) them accurately at 260-270, so at least it's somewhat competitive with casual players. And now that I can at least do that, 2/3 of the remaining game is approach/putting which is monstrously huge.

So I guess it's fair to say that it's one third driving, one third approach, one third putting, and then half of it is 90% mental. (I forgot who said that)

Momac, driving 320' accurately with your backhand if you were standing on your head would seem 'proper' form to me, lol, but I understand you.

but seriously, i'm not that bad, it must have been tournament jitters. i was missing so many putts that i shouldn't have, and drove like shit. it was embarassing. oh well better luck next time right.

Drive distance is over-glorified but it can be used as a general measure of your disc golf skill, USUALLY.
