Disc golf for soldiers in middle east?

Postby BHW » Sat Jul 22, 2006 8:17 pm

A friend of mine is being deployed to Iraq next month. One of the things he's taking is a portable basket and his discs. We wondered how many other people have taken portables, and if they'd be able to put up a course on base. Then he suggested trying to contact some of the basket manufacturers about supplying baskets for the troops to use. Does anybody know if this has been done, or discussed? Who to pitch the idea to? It's good business. Any soldier that gets hooked maycome home (hopefully) and go buy more gear and become a regular player.

I have heard it discussed a couple of different places, but can't think of them right now. I say if the basket companies don't go for it, there would have to be enough players with multiple baskets that might be willing.

Zone driven is donating all of the recalled Innova portables to schools. If your budy gets ahold of them, and if theres any left, he could probably get them to send some over to where his unit will be stationed. I heard there were a couple hundred of them available. check it out Zonedriven.com i believe
