DGR Karma Disc

Postby pointdisc » Thu Dec 04, 2008 9:25 am

The original idea belongs to DGDAVE. Have a disc to be sent around from DGR member to member to be used for a round (or five) then passed on to a different member.

The chosen disc of Karma goodness is a 177 Star Ontario Roc obtained from a trade on this very site (thanks peppermack!!!)
Image

DGDAVE & I came up with these simple rules:

1) Use the disc at any course(s) you want upon recieving it. Post on here where it's been.

2) Keep it for up to a month.

3) Send it to others using The List . Does not need to be in order.

4) Sign your DGR name on the back.

5) Take pictures!!! (and put them on here)

6) Whoever has it will also have the "travelling avatar" Click Here for Avatar

7) Enjoy the Karma.

Keep me posted in this disc's grand trip. I'm going to make a Google Earth map of it's journey and keep track of how far its traveled. Make sure to add pics so I can attach them to the GE map.

Also, please don't use this as trade barter. Its an extra disc to have fun with or just suprise the next guy/gal. If you're not trading at the moment, don't just let it collect dust, ask for an address and just pass it along.

Woo-Hoo! Good times!!

Dave, where the hell is your 8x FrankenRoc? I figured because I do so much trading, it would eventually end up on my doorstep...

Well, since it seems like a great idea...

Anyone got a spare star Roc lying around? I could dye up another and ship it back (or to another) and start that one on its journey.

Sticky???

Only DX rocs laying around - I say keep this one solo for a bit. Maybe select a new disc every 6 months or year. I'm on a wilderness/survival skills forum and we do Knife pass-arounds all the time - they are great. Nobody has to trade anything though - you just keep it for your allotted time(generally 2 after it arrives) snap some pics with it if you want - and send it on down to the next guy.

Few suggestions...

Lets create a list so we can keep a better idea of where its at and where its headed(the one who created the pass-around generally creates this list). Only members with more than 10 posts/2 months of membership should be allowed - to cut down on anybody just going AWOL with it, or saying 'I'm in for sure!' and flaking out(Every group of friends has that guy  ).

That should get things rolling.

P.S. I want in, SIGN ME UP.

Fixed the rules, forgot to add about the "travelling avatar" to go with it.

I'll pass on a 2nd disc for now, but if this one gets rocin I'll dye up another.
