2 times I have been told I have 1 new message but when I go to check there is nothing there. Is it I'm losing the mail or is it that it was just a mistake?

The person who sent to you could have deleted it from their "Outbox" before you opened and read it...

I had a problem for a long time where it wouldnt update the icons for post I have/havent read. I could even post a topic and it would mark it unread. It started working again after a browser update.
