I tried submitting a review this morning and got a lot of different error messages. Is this a temporary thing?

I always get an error message. However my reviews are usually included in the next update. I would just ignore the error message. It's DGR's code for "thanks for submitting your review".

if you entered a valid email address, you will receive a confirmation email if the review indeed went through.
it spits out errors if the wrong types of characters are in the review box or if something like weight isn't filled in.

I also submitted a review a month back or so and I don't remember getting an e-mail confirmation. It was for the Whitler. Is there any record of it on your end, Blake?

i get about 200 emails a day for reviews.
about 190 are spam. i generally quickly delete anything that looks like a repeat submission (there are people who will submit the same thing 5+ times in a row) and any that are obvious spam. the "good" ones i stick into another folder.
i'm honestly not sure on the "good" reviews since someone else does my review updates.
if it hasn't been posted and was submitted before the late updated date, you can send an email to willt_at_discgolfreview.com (no underscores).

I believe the reason why you get duplicate reviews from users is because they get repeated error messages. I know I've resubmitted reviews a few times before I realized the error message didn't mean anything.
For certain things such as accessories the weight field is not applicable so this would definitely generate the error message. Not requiring weight to be filled on non disc items would likely reduce the number of duplicate reviews submitted.

the new site will hopefully go active within a couple of months so it's not worth recoding the form.
it's far from perfect.
there are actually 2 different error messages that spit out.
a) if a required field is left blank.
b) if there is a character in the review field that the form doesn't like.
error b results in a successful review submission. error a does not go through.

Blake,
Should I post the v2 site up here so people can critique it?
The review submission/review process will be much easier.

I've gotten an "error message" before & the review went through. I posted 2 reviews & got an E-mail confirmation...but no review when i go to read it!! SO, if my reviews don't get posted i guess i just wont write any more reviews! Doe's anyone else feel this way/had any reviews that did'nt post? I really like the site & think it's a great resource for players & to find out about disc's before buying... but, i'm not going to write any more reviews untill i know they'll get posted!!

New site by end of month, then reviews will be published once approved. Similar to comments on a blog... I believe the old review submission might be broken...
http://www.discgolfreview.com/v2/
I've been busier than hell, but it will be done shortly.
Can anyone help port the reviews over? It's pretty easy, just takes time...
